Mentor - Jay Anderson
Jay Anderson is entering his second season as Oberlin’s head football coach after officially being named as the program’s leader on February 4, 2014. Serving as the Yeomen's defensive coordinator in 2013, Anderson guided an Oberlin defense that finished fourth in the NCAC in total defense and third in red-zone defense. Anderson spent the 2012 season as a member of the coaching staff at Division II Notre Dame College in Euclid, Ohio. He was previously with the Yeomen on part-time basis for three seasons, working as the team's defensive backs coach from 2009-11.
Jay has been a great mentor to me throughout the entire process. Little did I know, prior to my time at Oberlin, he has connections with Dave Walkosky, former head football coach at Tiffin, during my time. Coach Walk had coached Jay during his time at Toledo as a defensive back. It was nice that we had something in common and it initiated further communication between us. It was nice to have something in common we could talk about once I had started my internship.
